Well, you’ll be even more excited to know that my green woodpecker is back. Beautiful big black markings surround his eyes. His front is similar to a pigeon, his back pale green, but on top of his head, the most incredible red streak. He ‘walks’ up the trunk of the tree, positions himself in the fork of a branch, and preens himself. That’s when he’s not parading around the grass, long beak bobbing up and down. Are there any ornithologists reading this who can give me information on this gorgeous creature? If the aforementioned contributors feel inclined to reply, I trust they will avoid mating details.
