Yes, it is a pity about that property. Via a friend from Saltdean, I was allowed to visit the place yesterday and take photos inside and out for the record. I believe 14 flats are planned for the site.
The occupant is himself a developer and has apparently been planning this change of use for some years.
It will be sad to see it go, but I think the die is cast.
