] Date Posted: 11:30:22 09/01/07 Sat The rumours have been rife for many years, but as a resident of over 20 years I've kept an open mind. That is until last week when I saw two young men fighting on the road outside, observed by what looked like over 25 people. As I approached the gathering crowd, I asked if the police had been called. The answer to my question was short and right to the point. "They are the last thing we need round here poking their noses in". I stayed for what turned out to be a pleasant and reasonably priced pint of bitter. But I will not be returning to this public house. Not after being offered cocaine by two men in the toilets. Date Posted: 00:22:06 09/06/07 Thu I totally agree that the Spanish is a filthy toilet, with skank customers who need to be flushed as well. It lets Saltdean down big time... With the new Ocean Hotel apartments up the road costing £250K+, maybe its time now to turn the Spanish into something smarter, like a good local pizzeria or Italian restaurant. Well lets face it, on the flip side if the scum all go there at least they are not polluting other nicer pubs....?! There are times and places to use recreational drugs on the odd occasions. Date Posted: 17:20:16 05/23/08 Fri New landlord taken over Spanish Lady this week.spoken to him.very pleasent guy.ex forces and has no truck with drugs or those that use them.hopefully pub will improve and more locals will frequent it.As sad that our local is is used by so few of us.Possibly case of use it or lose it as far as brewery is concerned.new guy has plans to regenerate and willing to listen to customers requests.Lets wish him good luck and hope for a good old local that we can enjoy a drink in peace in without the louts and drugs [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: 11:31:48 06/04/08 Wed Strangely enough over the past few sunny weekends and particularly the Bank holiday there was the usual gathering of low brow, shirtless lowlifes guzzling crap expensive beer in the sun and no doubt taking drugs in the toilet. No miracle solution here I'm afraid. It's England and our culture, and whilst the Government frets over the classification of cannabis, 80% of young people in pubs are taking cocaine which is now easier to obtain than piles cream without a prescription. The 'spliff spin' is just another transparent political move to obscure the real problem for which they have no solution. Typical of this directionless government. There is an argument for keeping all these people in the same pub rather than dispersed across the rest of the local pubs.
