JE, that is a terrible comment, to suggest that someone should pay a totally unfounded claim for money on the basis that it's a baliff company and oooooer you might get into trouble.

With respect it is this type of cowardly reaction that they are basically counting on and it will only serve to enbolden them and create other victims.

I would report theletter to the police, it's wrong and is a harrasment for the recipient.

I share your sentiments, Bernardo. I wrote to them, more or less saying their letter was rubbish and asked them not to bother me again, and then ignored requests for further communication.
So far, nobody has called.

I'm not suggesting we should mobilise MI5 or get Jack Regan on the case, speak to a local community officer in case this 'firm' is undertaking a campaign in the area or whether they are known to the police.

Maybe I should have specified that it was not a 999 situation.

As will be seen from the date, the recipient decided it was not a 999 situation, but considered it worth a mention here.
