] Date Posted: 12:55:53 09/18/08 Thu In reply to: Glenys Revell 's message, "Planning Application Saltdean Barn" on 07:01:17 09/02/08 Tue After reading this mail and others concerning it i thought I had to make my own comments. as a father of 2 little ones who BOTH go to revells I am dissapointed to see people who have nothing better to say on this matter bad mouth the nursery for whatever reasons. my daughter emily has attended revells since the age of 1 and dont get me wrong when the barn opened we applied as it looked fantastic but when attending open day were very sad to see no atmosphere and close care and attention my wife and i felt our children both needed. We were offered a place but turned it down and stayed at revells. In all honesty it was the very best move we ever made. our daughter has just started school as has become a confident and well mannered young girl who is confirdent is herself and was so ready for school. Our little 2 year old boy attends revells and loves it. Yes it will never look like the barn and for me pesonally that doen not matter at all.....all the staff love the children and make sure they are well looked after and cared for..... KIDS WATCHING TV....someone complained that was wrong...why!!!!! does that not happen at the BARN....yes it does.....so why single out revells... onto the planning side....i have no problem with the barn applying for whatever planning they want as long as it is done properly....ie people notified...signs in park so others can have a say as it mysteriously dissapeared day after going up..!!!! My own personal opinion is that the barn was a beautiful building before the side attachment was added. From looking through planning applications the side extention was built with somewhere for people to wait and collect kids from....then it is now applied for it to be turned into a nursery.....was this intented from the start.....???? and why is more garden now needed....??? on the council website it says planning invalid so do not know what was intended or applied for so hopefully when they reapply i can look and then make comments. Now I have my own business so understand the need to improve and better things but all I wanted to say is if the barn want to extend further then do it correctly...let people have a look at whats intended and then make their own minds up. No more no less. Quickly on the parking side......as a parent dropping our children at revells we are constantly reminded to park so as to not cause any problems to neighbours to the nursery. Any new parent looking for a nursery would always put barn above revells simply on looks but all I can say is is that in the near 4 years we have been going there we have never had a complaint or reason to question anything that happens inside. Our children are happy and feel part of a large family, they smile all day long there and play in the small garden and enjoy evety single minute of it. I would not change a single thing about revells and if anyone from there reads this ...thank you. I am sure there will be comments against this mail but who cares.....this is what a forum is for..to express views. Thank you [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

Date Posted: 13:01:55 09/22/08 Mon I have to agree with George. The comments made by Glenys are all rather self-serving. Perhaps we could take her point of view more seriously had she actually got planning permission to have her nursery there - those in glass houses etc. My little boy went to Boomerang for two years and in all that time he didn't get to watch TV and I've never seen one on the premises. Just thought I'd mention it. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
