A knock at the door

It’s so nice that Groo has some family staying at last, you can tell he’s your son
With that the old lady leaves Wes to his work

INT – WOLFRAM & HART – NIGHT
Gunn is leaving his office for the night as he slips past the filing office, left open and unguarded – curious? Indeed.
He steps inside and moves immediately over the index on ‘Angel Investigations’ he spends a few minutes flicking randomly through the files before coming across “the plan”
Gunn pulls open the file, his eyes widen in shock.
CUT TO.
EXT – CLUB – NIGHT
Spike, Willow and Cordelia are collapsed against the wall completely breathless, as Harmony stands in front of them
HARMONY
That was so cool, I know now – I don’t wannabe a roller waitress anymore
(beat)
I wannabe a crime fighter!
They all look at each other with fear before turning their attention back to Harmony.

INT – WESLEYS ROOM – DAY
Wesley has been up all night, stressing over the books as it all begins to come together slowly.

Connor as a baby, Connor returning, Connor with Jasmine
Wesley sits back for a moment to take it all in before grabbing the papers and his coat and rushing out of the room.
CORDELIA
Where’s he going?
Willow and Spike pass glances and stand to follow immediately
WILLOW

Wesley is frozen to the spot as Willow and Spike catch up with him. Spike crosses in front of him and places his hands on Wesley’s arms holding him to face.

Stoppin’ you from busting one of the biggest plans we’ve ever had is all

Lilah is sat at her desk as Gunn crashes through the door storming towards her

(he slams the file down)
This little plan that’s already failed, I am telling you now it’s not going to it’s next step
LILAH
Gunn, come in, be comfortable
GUNN
Don’t get smart with me woman – you think you can put us enough in danger to convince Angel to hand over his soul? You think that’ll work
They’re interrupted as Connor knocks at the door
CONNOR
Miss Morgan – I’m finished with the phone calls
LILAH
Take a break I’ll find you when I’m ready
GUNN

LILAH

Nice kid – now where were we? Oh right – you aint messin’ wit’ Angels soul again, you need to get past that once and for all

Charles is there a point to this or did you just come here to play make believe

Connor is sat on the bench out front, eating his lunch as Spike skids up to the pavement.
SPIKE
Where’s Angel?
CONNOR
I don’t keep tabs – what’s going on?
SPIKE
Your little plan to go undercover in here
(beat)
We’re doing it now and then getting the hell out of this deal
CONNOR
Why? What’s happened?
SPIKE
I’ll explain later just get to the final phase of the plan and skip the middle stuff

INT – LILAHS OFFICE – DAY
Lilah is sat alone as she stares into space looking guilty as sin – shame on her face.
She pauses a moment before scrambling for the phone.

INT – WILTONS MANSION – DAY
Angel comes up through the cellar door to be greeted by Wesley, Cordelia, Groo, Harmony and Willow.
ANGEL
Harmony’s here?
WILLOW
She’s leaving tomorrow
GROO
I made cakes
WESLEY
Angel we need to talk
ANGEL
Can’t it wait
WESLEY
It’s about Connor
(pause)

ANGEL

Angel is sprinting the distance through the sewers, desperately trying to get back to Wolfram & Hart.

Lilah is sprinting down the corridors as if her life depended on it

INT – BATHING ROOM – DAY
Gunn steps into the room in his robe as two young women, both of an african origin, covered in jewels, eyes a sharp emerald green – step from the water and remove his robe.
GUNN
Brother could get used to this
The women take Gunn to the water, both in silence as the steam fills the room, drifting up his nose, into his ears, through his eyes
GUNN
Man that’s smooth
Both girls smile at each other, Gunn’s eyes close in relaxation as one of the girls dissolves into a dark purple liquid – sliding over his skin and seeping in.
After minutes of bathing he opens his eyes
GUNN
Where’d she go?
GIRL
She had to leave
GUNN

INT – FREDS LAB – DAY
Fred is sat, rather exhausted and low as she looks over Knox failed plans
FRED
I guess I’ll have to finish them for ya huh
SPIKE (O.S)
(breathless)

SPIKE
We have to leave

SPIKE
Fred just trust me – the deal’s expired

He flings Fred over his shoulder and heads to the carpark where he bumps straight into Angel
ANGEL
What are you doing here? Is she dead?
Spike passes Fred to Angel
SPIKE
I’m doing what you’d get killed trying – get her out of here, I’ll be back at the mansion soon
ANGEL
Connor?
SPIKE
He’ll be with me
(pause)

Spike runs off as Angel dives back into the sewer, Fred in arms

INT – WOLFRAM & HART
Lilah is still running through corridors, checking her watch all the way
Connor steps out of a side door
CONNOR
Miss Morgan, are you okay?
LILAH
Where’s Gunn?
CONNOR
Who?
LILAH
The black guy that came into my office where is he?
CONNOR
I don’t know
(pause)
Are you okay?
LILAH
Not if I don’t find him
CONNOR

LILAH
Connor, the only way you can help is by leaving – I think you know aswell as I do that it’s over. Leave while you can.
CONNOR

LILAH
Connor I have you here because I knew this was going to happen! I knew the senior partners were going to start the final phase of this plan the second Angel walked out of those doors and I know you’re aware of who he is – now If I don’t get to Gunn before he finds out then we’ll have all hell to pay. Believe me.
On that note, Lilah continues off down the corridor where she finally comes to the bathing room.
She flings open the double doors
LILAH
Stop, Stop now!
GUNN
Um, do you always jump in on naked people?
(beat)

LILAH
You’re dry?
GUNN
Um, well done. Leave.
Lilah takes a breath of relief and slowly walks away
From the other side of the room, the young woman enters again, smiling.
GUNN
You just missed Lilah
(beat)
She came in all crazy shocked that I knew how to dry myself off after a bath!

INT – WOLFRAM & HART – DAY
Spike is jogging along the corridor nervously looking around as he is pulled in through a side door.
CONNOR
You ready?
SPIKE
We’re more than likely gonna die here today so let me tell you now
(beat)
You’re not to bad kid
CONNOR
Oh god – we’re gonna die
SPIKE
Probably – you scared
CONNOR
Not really, can’t be that hard
SPIKE
‘cept I’ve got a feeling they know I’m here

Master security system and six punched out guards drops a hint

Wesley’s phone is on the side of table ringing, flashing Lilah. Nobody is around so Harmony fetches it.
HARMONY

HARMONY

LILAH

Harmony is interrupted as Angel bursts through the cellar door holding Fred
HARMONY

Tell Wesley that Lilah called. Gunn signed the dotted line – they need to meet me at the Hyperion right away

Connor enters the room carefully, creeping through as if he were night crawler. Spike is stood by the door on guard.

Wesley is stood with Angel and Cordelia ready to explain himself as Harmony enters
CORDELIA

Wesley, some girl called Lily called and she said you have to meet her at the hyper dome because um, something about a gun on a dotted line?
The three of them glance at each other before shooting past Harmony – Wes and Cordelia dashing to the car, Angel hitting the sewers again.

INT – HYPERION – DAY
LILAH
We may still have time
WESLEY
How did you let this happen?
CORDELIA
She’s evil Wesley
(pause)
More to the point why are you telling us? I bet this is a trap
LILAH
It’s not a trap, I’m telling you because
(pause)

Wesley passes Lilah a half smile
ANGEL
What about Connor and Spike?
LILAH
I told Connor to go to you right away
ANGEL

LILAH
About an hour ago
ANGEL
Wolfram & Hart is twenty minutes from us, he didn’t go there
LILAH
Look we can find him later, if you don’t get inside there now and stop Gunn from bathing – you can’t even be prepared for what will happen
ANGEL
How long to we have?
LILAH
No idea – maximum of fifteen, maybe twenty minutes – Cordelia I can get you in there easily, the don’t know you like the others. Angel you’ll have to find the best way in.
CORDELIA
But if Gunn hasn’t been bathed yet…he’ll be able to get out it right? With Connor?
LILAH
I don’t know – all I do know is that you want to pray that he remembered Connor before the bathing, something as heavy as that can really piss a guy of his temperament off.

Connor is about to close the draw on the files as he spots one marked “Connor Angel (Laim, Stephen)”

Spike is unconscious on the floor

Connor attempts to walk past Gunn but his path is blocked

Gunn snatches it from his hands before laughing a little in confusion

Gunn stands tall over Connor as purple clouds fill his eyes, purple liquid flows under his skin, he seems taller as his pupils illuminate red and he steps towards Connor.
