With the information Pavel's own agent (Gillis) provides, it is clear that although Pavel loves S. FLA, the Panthers don't see the point of paying Pavel one fourth of their payroll...that he is indeed being shopped...but that he's not an easy player to peddle due to his price.
I almost wish Pavel would do something incredibly selfless and accept a lot less money to play with the Cats. Other players, at least from what I know of other sports, have done such things to stay with as well as benefit teams/organizations/towns they love.
It is disconcerting that the Sandis Ozolinsch (sp?) trade has already "mutated" into a different direction for the Panthers than what that for which it was originally intended. Ozo's been with the Panthers only a matter of weeks! This only indicates, sadly enough, the disarray and lack of know-how within the Panthers management...*sigh*
