According to Wikipedia, "jobber" is any performer who loses a match. There are different levels of jobber, from the ones who get "squashed" every time to the "jobber to the stars" who's allowed to keep winning till they meet the champion. By this definition, there's a jobber in every pro-wrestling match.
The difference with the "Apologies" video, and it's something no one wants to talk about, is that, whereas jobbers in most other pro-wrestling matches at least appear to fight back, even though they're often straws in a hurricane, Devon almost never tried to break free of a hold. If someone can explain that stupidity, I'd really apreciate it!
My idol remains Judell DuLong. If she ever had a fake match, no one could tell. And, win or lose, at least both opponents appeared to try, and try mightily, and held on to their dignity. Judell often said that many fake wrestling matches are, to paraphrase, no more thean rape-by-proxy. I couldn't agree more! Yes, Devon kept herself covered and was never sexually violated by Honey, but the violence and humiliation, and they way so many fans enjoyed her torture, makes me wonder.
I see women beyond their anatomy. My favorite part of a match is when one woman is in an impossible hold and in terrible pain but is still trying to find a way out and my even attempt some dangerous move. When Jessle, in "Invasion 4" tried to pin Victoria while trapped in a sleeper hold: brilliant!!! And, though that video too ended in humiliation, at least 80% was wonderful. That's why I was so deeply disapointed with "Apologies." I thought SKW had standards. Alas!
So please tell me why you like to see women tortured and humiliated without ever really fighting back.
