Hello, Clint. Thanks for joining the frey (I don't expect "loserboi" to return after pushing him to confront himself).
Yes, I now see the word "custom." And, yes, I did avail myself of the pix captures and videocaps of the shows. I agree that no other producer of its kind is as generous as SKW. And, had I but known, I would and should have emailed SK to ask about the nature of the show prior to purchase.
But, if I were to ask SK, "are the women made to struggle and squirm and show pain without ever trying to relieve themselves of the source of that pain?" what would his response be?
When I refer to torture, and I thought I made it clear in my previous writings, I'm not necessarily thinking of blood, ropes, being stretched on racks, etc. I repeatedly used the term, "soft-core S&M."
We all know what a Sadist is: someone who enjoys inflicting physical and/or emotional pain and/or humiliation on others. A common device for this enjoyment is torture. What is torture? Not even our U.S. Attorney General can figure that out. But, as the US Supreme Court said about pornography, "I know it when I see it!"
A masochist is someone who enjoys receiving pain and/or humiliation. Often masochists don't wait for Sadists and will torture themselves.
Now let's look at "Apologies to Honey." Devon is placed in hold after hold where she flails her limbs, twists and turns and moans and grouns till exchaustion (something that looks VERY good in still photographs!!!) but almost never does anything to try and free herself except occasionally brushing her hand against Honey (in still photos, she appears to be trying to push Honey off her). Perhaps the women were told to not appear to be trying to free themselves, just register pain and suffering. I know it's not REAL torture in that no one is actually getting hurt (Devon does give herself a good aerobic workout!). But she is acting out a FANTASY OF TORTURE! So the person who commissioned this custom show and SKW's paying audience can enjoy Devon's, and later Honey's, manufactured suffering and say, "Hey, it's not real, there are no ropes or piercings or sexual violations, so it's alright to enjoy this!"
Besides my personal view that this softcore S&M is the oposite of sexy, I object to how these shows desensitize people to human suffering. How often do people see real life horrors on TV News and say, "I saw all that already in the movies?"
Many years ago I worked in a wierd job where I was forced to watch endless numbers of porn film. Each one usually had a rape scene and, every time, after the woman started out resisting the rape, she'd end up enjoying it. What message does this convey to the audience?
I appreciate that women in "Apologies to Honey" are having a great time creating these shows. I just wish they made it look like Devon was trying to fight back the way Jessle did in "Invasion 4" or as the lowest "jobber" does in most bigger budget wrestling shows.
I suggest people skim through Jesse Ventura's autobiography where he explains how the wrestling shows were made more "theatrical." No one was ever intentionally hurt in them either but thay strove for a level of intensity and vividness which involved some discomfort. No show ever went beyond where jobber and heel couldn't have a good laugh afterwards.
What still puzzles me is why people enjoy this, what I and a jury of my peers would call, torture. Does it come out of a hatred of women? Are women seen as a lower class which must be repeatedly put in its place?
I await counsel's rebutal.
Sincerely, Philip Bennett
