Take it from me, retirement is a terrific option. I've always wondered why some broadcasters just can't seem to hang it up. Would I go back to work part-time if someone asked me to do an oldies show? You bet. It would be entirely different from the prior work I've done in this market. But, to ply the same old trade to smaller and smaller audiences at smaller and smaller stations until you become near-pitiful is not, to me, the way to go out. I started in broadcasting 53 years ago. I had a nice run. Time to walk...and proudly.
