I'd heard Harold was THE first sports announcer. If it were he who called the Harding-Cox election returns, I'd guess he was also the first radio newsman--but we'll have to check the accuracy of that.

I remember they had a picture of him hanging in a hallway at KDKA, about 20 years ago. I used to pass it, when I'd go to the ness set to shout at Ray and Patti and the audio director, John Anders. Sure do miss those folks.

Bob Prince's son lives only a few miles away from me, here in Venice, FL (Noticed that in Bob's wife's recent obituary).
