I get it. Unfortunately, in those days, not many of us had tape recorders, at least not at home. I actually had a Sony 7" recorder in the late 60's, but generally didn't listen to KQV on my home stereo, or feel like I needed to record AM radio. At the time, I suppose we thought it would always be there.
I had a friend who had one of those "direct drive" 3" reel recorders, and she had several hours of Cordic and Co. recordings, including his last KDKA show. Those tapes are surely long gone, and even if they existed, would only play on that crappy machine with no capstan.
