When I first started watching TV in the early '50s, I lived in East Liverpool, OH, 40 miles west of Pittsburgh. We got three TV stations: KDKA and WDTV Pittsburgh, and WJAC Johnstown. Almost 60 years later, I still remember the Wilkens Easy Credit Tune! It goes around and around in my head but I never thought I'd find anyone to share it with. Not even people from Pittsburgh unless they're a certain age. Yet I still know the words and if I close my eyes can see the glowing "Wilkens" sign that showed on the screen. I see some people have spelled it "Wilkins" with an "i" but trust me (I'm a proofreader), it's an "e". Do any of these stores still exist? I haven't lived in the area since the late 1950s. I remember WDTV because of the Jackie Gleason show. We even had a Dumont TV set!
