Interesting story about Cigna on the 9-Midnight show; John told this story in the KDKA 80th Anniversary documentary I produced in 2000:

Cigna was originally offered the 6p-9p talk show slot, but he turned it down because he coached his son's little league team. He told KD management "I can't make it there that early." So, he says they asked him "What about 9 to Midnight." Cigna said "OK" and the rest is history.

Not only a neat story but I think it says a lot about John's devotion to his kids.
