Back when you had to backtime your last tune to hit the top of the hour network news or - in the case of KQV - ABC's "live news at 55," it sure was easier for a jock to pick up an instrumental in midstream to backtime it. So if you liked to listen to instrumentals, the best time to tune in was at 52 after the hour on KQV, and just before the hour on the other music stations. You'd get your daily dose of Bill Black, Percy Faith, Henry Mancini, Bert Kaempfert, the Telstars, or any number of others.
