Those vintage boards are popular collectors items, now. A lot of ham radio radio operators/engineers are refurbishing old boards and vintage AM transmitters and putting them into service (As for cart machines, you can't even GIVE them away. I know of a guy who makes LAMPS out of them. I currently use two of them as doorstops at my studio).
I forget what brand of console they had in the AM control room at WHJB in Greensburg, when I worked there briefly in the late 80s, but Hank Baughman told me he'd used the same board in 1961. They really were reliable pieces of equipment--everything hand soldered and hand-wound. A hell of a lot beefier than most that you can buy today (unless you're using an API or Neve, of course). Fun stuff!
