You will have to admit that Rege had a face for radio, so any roles would be very limited to character acting. His great voice never really matched his looks. Saw a few of his bits on Columbo or Mannix type shows where he was a police commissioner type role. He made enough money to stay out on the west coast for the rest of his life, picking up a few gigs back here in the 'burgh hosting an afternoon movie and trying a Sunday morning taped radio show. Rege fits into the Pittsburgh lexicon of other such as Bob Prince.
