When I listened to Party Line, my mind's eye always saw a comfortable living room setting, probably with a fireplace in winter. It's an everlasting credit to the talents of Ed and Wendy that they could create that atmosphere while sitting on plastic molded cafeteria chairs at a metal table while surrounded by nicotine-stained acoustical tile that was coming loose.

John Stewart left KDKA in 1969, part of much upheaval at KDKA in that era. In 1968-69, Clark Race, Terry McGovern, Bob Trow, Bob Tracey, Big Jim Williams, Jim White, Mike Levine and John Stewart all departed the station. That was also the same time that Jim Woods left the Pirates broadcast team for St. Louis.
