There was a lot of great local programming on the radio back in the REAL Golden Age that hasn't been well documented. The network programming from the Golden Age of radio is well documented in many, many books. The Bronze Age of Radio, when pretty much all there was on the air was DJ's playing records, has been well documented in many, many books. But there is almost nothing out there about the great local programming that filled the dayparts when there were no network programs being fed, or on local stations that had no network affiliation.

Slim Bryant's local morning show is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the unsung local programming of the REAL Golden Age of radio.
