Right, that was a basic slogan in the '60s. "Sound One for Music and Fun" was another variation they used a lot.

As for jingles, another curious aspect of KDKA's imaging was the logo that became indelibly identified with the station, through every jingle supplier over the decades, whether PAMS or TM or whomever. It dates back to 1960 or so, and a fixed-logo package from someone named Roy Ross. Interestingly, WABC used the very same package (with the same logo) in its earliest days as a top 40 station, but never took the logo any farther than that. WABC switched in mid-1961 to the same Ullman-Johnny Mann jingles that KQV also adopted around that time. On a November 1961 WABC aircheck, you can hear some instrumental beds with the "KDKA" logo under live copy read by Dan Ingram for Schaefer beer.
