It was really hard to tell one elevator music station from another back in the 1960's, except that my folks only subjected us to WRYT in the car, because the old Rambler only had an AM radio. They'd make us listen to all the FM elevator music stations at home on the big Sylvania stereo console, which was a not only a stereo radio and phonograph, it was a major piece of furniture that included big storage bins for records. My own kids still don't believe that their grandparents had a stereo that was six feet wide.
