DirecTV did not launch until 1994, with Dish Network following a year later (there was a 3rd. service that got bought out by one of those two). In '91 someone in Pittsburgh may have been able to get those channels on one of the big old C-Band satellite dishes (there is still one at a house behind CoGo's in Brookline).

I had The Comedy Channel but I was living in Michigan at the time.
