Mike Perloski, 6'1" 235 DE, recruited to be a LB.
Bishop McDevitt. Reported Nov. 11 on pennlive and local station. Apparently over Penn (attended NFL-Wharton Prep Leadership Program at Penn in June). Had nice things to say about both schools/programs.

Good player, but doubt he had an offer from Florida. I see Florida listed as an offer, but most Florida recruits have multiple BCS offers.

On March 19,2013, Florida Coach Will Muschamp offered Shofner when Andrew was visiting the Gator spring practice.

It could be true he's a good player, but there is a big difference with these guys offer sheet.

Fact is he's a very good recruit by Ivy standards.

Or click the link I already posted, but then again, why let a few facts get in the way of a good story?

Remember, Florida had its worst season since 1979 and cleaned house two weeks ago. Both the offensive coordinator and O-line coach were dismissed.

It is possible that either a) the offer extended then is now tenuous or b) the kid decided to drop UF from consideration based on those two being gone.

There is a lot we don't know and can't learn from Rivals and blogs...

HDallmar/Tiger 81 - We all agree the kid is a good player. This site is built for discussion and open conversation. It's just odd he would tell a few reporters he has an offer from UF given his other offers. I have been following Ivy League football for over a decade and I cannot remember a player with a pre-senior season SEC offer going Ivy.

I wonder if he was taken out of context?

Looking at the kid's offers made me sniff around. It just seems really odd that a kid has an offer from Florida and his next best offers are from Middle Tenn St. and Air Force, particularly since he has had the offer since March.

I am by no means saying that what I heard is true, but this seems like a fairly plausible explanation:

The now deposed OC from Florida, Brent Pease is good friends with the kid's HS coach at Woodbury Forest and gave the kid an offer to help him get exposure. When it came down to it, the offer was REALLY a preferred walk-on offer. UF would have taken him as a preferred.

I am not saying the kid is not a great player. He may be all that and a bag of chips. Again, this is rumor mill stuff, but it seems believable enough to me.

Chad Kanoff, Princeton freshman, had a "preseason offer" from Vanderbilt in the SEC. Several years ago, Jonathan Myrrs had an offer from Florida and went to Princeton. He suffered a foot injury injury as a freshman and then concentrated on lacrosse. Was second team all league as a senior.

You're right. Forgot about Myers who also had several other major D1 scholarships.
