Unless there are still thousands in the parking lots, it's not close to a sellout

Many don'at leave tailgates until second half, some not at all. Had to buy football ticket to get into larger Harvard organized indoor buffet.

Another stupid Yale penalty. 3rd and 5 for Harvard, incomplete pass. 15 yard penalty on the Yale D. Harvard then scores easily.

Both teams have been horrible converting on 3rd down. Nothing new for Yale, anyway.

Rawlings is a player. Not the most accurate QB I've ever seen but tough as nails, can move well and is a leader.

Rawlings with another first down. Pencil this kid in as QB for the next 3 years. He is growing up in real time here.

If Yale wins then will the Yale fans be disappointed that Reno stays.

With Reed Klubnik as his go to guy. Rawlings win over Harvard is unprecedented for a Yale freshman qb.

Agreed, but let's not forget the much maligned (by all of us) defense that played great.

Yes you're right. In fact the inspired play by the entire team was what ultimately provided the long awaited win over the Crimson. In particular it was great to see the seniors who were able to play today, perform so well.

Like Army-Navy, Cal-Stanford or Lehigh-Lafayette, Harvard-Yale is a one-game season. Great work in breaking the streak against the Cantabs and sending the Seniors out on a high note!

When was the last time a noncontending team beat a contending team in a season finale to cost that team the championship (or part of a championship)?

Can't answer Go Green's question about last time a non-contender knocked off a contender, but last time there was such a big upset in H-Y rivalry was 3-5 H team beating 8-0 Yale in Bowl before 75,000.

The Harvard upset of Yale to which I refer happened in 1979.

Memphis Bill - Harvard was actually 2-6 entering The Game in 1979, when they torched an unbeaten Yale team in the Bowl, 22-7. Yale still won the title outright, though.

http://yaledailynews.com/blog/2016/11/18/the-history-of-the-underdog/

Article above was written prior to yesterday's game.
Some excerpts -

"Since 1970, the team entering the contest with the lower record has emerged victorious on just 13 occasions."

"Harvard has typically been the team to pull off the upset. Of those 13 wins by the unfavored opponent, the Crimson owns 10 of them, with only two coming in the past 16 years. The last time the Bulldogs won as the underdogs in The Game was in 1993."

"Harvard delivered the Bulldogs’ only loss in 1974, 1979 and 2007."

I was flipping through the channels last night, to see if any of the many DIRECTV sports channels I have was showing the Yale-Pitt basketball game.

Instead, I find a replay of the Yale-Harvard football game on channel 630 (CSN New England).

It wasn't a complete replay, as they fit the game into a two hour time frame, but it was nice to watch again and record since my superstitions had prevented me from recording the game live.

The other day, I watched the entire 1984 Yale-Harvard game, which also happened to be the first Y-H game to which I took my wife.

I'm looking forward to watching it tonight. I wish someone would upload the following games:

2014 Yale-Army
1981 Yale- Navy

Those are my favorite Yale games over the last 40 years.

Still remember that game because of a senior running back who as I recall made his first start and hammered his way for yardage all afternoon to help Yale beat the Crimson.

I think it was the full back. I can't remember his name. Think he had three touchdowns and it was his first start.
