Word is that one year removed from a 9-1 season and Ivy title Buddy has made significant changes to his staff.

Because it's always someone else's fault. He should fire himself or... get lucky and find another Dalyn Williams to make himself look good.

I'm not saying that this applies to Buddy but, often when a head coach feels that he is on the hot seat or perhaps warmish, he'll shake up his staff before his AD can come after him, to give the impression that change is already underway. That's Coaching 101.

If that's true, Teevens will be the only Ivy grad left on staff.

It's 100% accurate and true...confirmed through multiple sources...

If you look at those three coaches' Twitter profiles, you'll notice that they have removed their Dartmouth affiliation...

they are still listed on the football page as coaches, interesting turn of events

maybe Rick "mind" Bender Director of Varsity Athletics Communications hasn't gotten around to removing them

The ED deadline was November 1. One of the coaches purportedly fired was the recruiting coordinator.

Do the NCAA rules permit the withdrawal or declination of an ED application/admission if a coach or coaches are fired after the application is submitted?

I thought the Early Decision process was a purely Ivy League process that is completely independent of the NCAA. IL doesn't recognize the NCAA letter of intent process, either.

But your question still could be asked about oircome under Ivy rules.

oircome = outcome (Big 0 may be confused)

Oircome might be a Gaelic word meaning outcome--or not.

The reason for my question was two-fold. I don't know if the "departed coach" rules apply to assistant coaches or to Early Decision.

The Dartmouth recruiting coordinator was not let go. Facts, boys, facts!

There are many things that govern a departing coach's actual departure date. Facts, boys, facts!

With Teevens, anything is possible.

Expect that Bruce Wood will clear this up next week. If he doesn't, it's probably true and he has been sworn to secrecy or is protecting the College or the coaches.

One more time, the information and the names posted earlier in this thread are correct. Don't expect a public affirmation in the short term--there are plenty of reasons that these things take time to play out publicly--for the benefit of both sides.

Not many employers give out that kind of information before the carefully crafted, mutually acceptable, full of empty praise press release is released.

Yikes but tell me Little Sicilian's wingman why he should fire himself, after all he did find Dayln and the other 7 ivy teams didn't
So the head coach can't make staff changes without internet trolls second guessing every move, some coaches work others don't, why stay with something that isn't working the way you want

You guys are nuts. There needs to be accountability everywhere and some of these changes were overdue. I credit Buddy for making some tough decisions to keep the program moving forward.

Trolls, second guessers and back benchers indeed. Try gathering s few facts first.

Fact: Back in September, I accurately predicted a struggle for the Big Green this year. Plain vehemently(and wrongly) disagreed.

Fact: The team did struggle, finishing last.

Fact: Back in September, I raised questions about character issues with the Dartmouth HC of Football. Plain was indignant.

Fact: HC of Football blamed his assistants (and fired them) for the disappointing season..

Fact: Hanover Plain routinely engages in name calling of others in this forum.

Opinion: Blaming his assistants after a losing season is a poor reflection on HC's character. Calling people names in an anonymous forum is less than courageous and reflects poorly on Plain's character. ... I'm seeing a pattern in Hanover.

Since I have posted only 3 or 4 times on the Forum this fall--and never in response to your particular posts--I would urge you again to look at "facts". You are quite Trump-like in just making it all up as you go. Or perhaps, to your benefit, you are confusing me with someone else. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it is that. But I have not responded to any posts on team character, etc on this blog. Facts are stubborn things.

3 months ago I questioned the strength of the this year's Dartmouth squad relative to last's. I cited a JV loss to Williams three years ago, along with recent struggles in the Harvard scrimmage as indicators that the Senior class was not a strong one.I made a reasonable prediction based on pretty fair backup.

You replied with an emotional rant about more recent 40pt JV drubbings of Williams, along with your prediction of continuing title contention by the big green.

In hindsight, I was correct. You were not.

Regarding your request for one example of your name calling, I offer four:
11/22 post by Plain: "Trolls, Second Guessers, Back Benchers"
11/27 post by Plain: "..you are Trumplike"

You are entitled to facts...but not your own facts.

I feel awful for the assistants and hope they end up on their feet somewhere.

But coaching is a nasty business. When the team underperforms, stuff like this happens.

what the hell does that mean?? I think Semper is reserved for the USMC not a college football team even one as esteemed as Cornell.
Stop making crap up, sounds like you have been hanging out in the Ithaca Commons with the great unwashed in the People's Republic of Ithaca

but Hanover Plain no reason to bring up Trump this guy is the other side for sure

In his 27 seasons as a college head football coach Teevens has had a good record for all of 5, maybe 6, good seasons. But yeah, must be the assistants' fault.

just explain to me why Teevens can't change his staff whenever he wants if he feels he needs too, after all it is his staff

You ought to perhaps focus on whether "Janet" Reno keeps his job or not. I'm thinking that the rest of the league hopes he does stay what do you think

here's a song to help Reno figure it out

Do opposing teams feel more, or less, concerned that said coach is on the opposing sideline?

I think we know the answer for many of the names that are bandied about.

This is what I admire about athletic programs that actual expect to win a title each year and hold the HC and staff accountable if they don't.

Unlike Brown which continues to accept average results Dartmouth is a winning progrM and has a winning mindset!
