Can you imagine how good Lovett would have been if he was a tailback in Princeton's old single wing??

He would have been the prototypical TB, but the wear and tear probably would have affected his level of play by end of the season.

Someone almost exactly like Rhattigan (except healthy) at fullback would have been critically important to the tailback, and his survival.

Recall that Surace's first play inside the opponent's five was a single wing dive play. Although he never saw it at Princeton, he clearly feels the Tiger past, and the resulting success of folks like Epperly and Lovett are not happenstantial. There are likely to be more.

Didn't recognize that. Thanks. Not called the dive. In single wing jargon it was known as the "wedge."
