It is interesting how the Ivy League tends to hire many of its best coaches at much younger age than as you noted in the Power 5 conferences. Another thread on this site, pointed out the current ages of Columbia, Harvard, Dartmouth and Brown’s coaches. Yet, it is important to keep in mind that these coaches started their head coaching careers in the Ivy League in their 30s. Al Bagnoli was selected as the Penn head coach at 39, Tim Murphy at Harvard at 37, Phil Estes at Brown at 35, and Buddy Teevans at Dartmouth at only 30. The legendary Bob Blackman and Carmen Cozza started their Ivy League head coaching careers at 36 and 34, respectively. The Ivy League is a good place to attract top young coaching talent, who hopefully you can keep for decades.
