A fascinating story.I don't think he will be back. He appears to have lost the passion. This is not unusual. You can't live your life for other people. He had the courage to be honest with himself and then act on it. A very admirable trait that will serve him well in life. I wish him all the best.

It looks like he has left Yale in the rear view mirror. With the two fine running backs Dudek and Purvey as part of this year's recruiting class it looks like Yale has moved on from Grinde as well.

He may have been able to accede to the level of such Yale running back greats as Dick Jouron, Rich Diana, Mike McLeod, and Tyler Varga. I hope for his sake he doesn't end up regretting what might have been.

If he doesn't have a passion for football anymore he did Yale a favor in leaving. Such an attitude would be detrimental to the team. Loving the game is more important than how many stars are next to your name.

My biggest takeaway from the article is his comments on Yale's conditioning program which he claims made him slower and weaker. If true that is very concerning.
