If true, there must be underlying non-football reasons. Otherwise, this makes no sense.

I'm no insider, but there seemed to be a perception that Dixon was very frustrated that things didn't work out better this past season. Many were expecting him to be the QB, but he got injured in camp and lost the starting spot to Heneghan.

Although he did get a chance when Hengehan struggled, he was put in a tough spot--starting against Harvard in bad weather. He didn't produce and was yanked after a few series. Heneghan didn't look back after that.

And then there's this:

When Dartmouth backup QBs transfer seeking more playing time, they usually drop down a level. Personally, I'd take the Dartmouth degree myself, but to each his own.

But maybe you're right and he just didn't like Hanover. It happens.

In any event, if he has indeed left the program, I wish him the best. If he's sticking around, then great!

Agree with you regarding Dixon.

Fitzgerald hasn't played in a real football game since the second game of his senior year in high school (2014). Although enrolled at Illinois, he did not play except in practice during 2015 and was not on the team in 2016. Hopefully, he'll be superb.

The Illinois program has been in a tailspin for a while. Not just losses but also controversy. Hard to get any traction there despite it being an opportunity to play at the FBS level.

Ivy football programs don't get many transfers so hopefully he makes the most of the opportunity. There is ample room for D'mouth to improve their QB depth.
