Princeton men's hockey is a less than mediocre 3-9-2 in the ECAC. Yet, they have won games against top 10 opponents, away. They beat Bemediji State back to back at their place. Yesterday, in front of 15,000 fans in Wells Fargo Arena in Philly, they beat Penn State which had just gained a number 1 ranking before dropping down to 4th as of yesterday.

PSU is coached by Guy Gadwosky, a former PU coach who started the PSU program.

Great win for Princeton.

Looking forward to Yale-Princeton on Friday at Ingalls. The game will be on ESPN 3

I have absolutely no idea which Princeton team will show up at the Whale. Two of our ECAC wins were against Quinnippiac, so we at least know how to win in your general neigborhood. Thanks for the head's up re ESPN3.

One thing I have liked about games at Yale, when I have been able to go, is the great community support Yale gets, all those youth leagues showing up, and hockey fans generally, etc. Every time I have seen a game there, it has been SRO. Cool.

Princeton is at Union for 3-game series.
Yale is at Harvard for a 3-game series.

Sounds similar to the season that Dartmouth football had this past fall.

Very young team; next season (Fogarty's fourth) will be the big test.

So, since we left off, Princeton has picked up 7 of 8 points. After beating Yale 8 days ago, we headed to Brown which is having a bad year. Brown scored a shorthanded goal within minutes and then jumped to a 3-0 lead. We managed to come back for a tie. Last night, we beat a team tied for first in the ECAC. Tonite, we spotted Clarkson a 2-0 lead after 49 minutes, and came back to win in OT. We are now in 8th place by a point, which would give us home ice to open the playoffs. But it is hardly certain we will stay there. Still, they have showed some real grit to get this far, at the moment anyway.

After a 0-6-1 start, Tigers are 11-5-2. Sign it's totally legit: 5-2-1 on the road. They'll be a nasty tough out in the ECAC playoffs.

I don't think anyone would be comfortable playing Princeton in a best of 3 series.

After placing 7th in the ECAC and securing home ice, P drops the opener 3-2, ties the second game in the last second of regulation and win in OT -- and then take the series yesterday. Well done. Next weekend, at Union which will be heavily favored to end our season. But,

1. Well done by the program to get this far.
2. We are really going to miss our goalie, Colton Phinney.
3. Lots of young scorers returning for us next year, as a prior poster noted.
