I recommend reading the full article from the Yale Daily News. Looks like we're getting closer to solving the football injury mystery thanks to the excellent reporting of the Yale Daily News.

I find it very concerning that a QB struggling with arm pain wasn't sent to get an MRI immediately. What's even more concerning is that surgery was the first plan of action after finding a rotator cuff tear in the throwing arm of that QB. This has nothing to due with staff size, and much more to do with the athletic specific experience possessed by team doctors.
