Had some time to read through the 2017 CU bios. Lots of good data until saw several of the "other offers" part, and went online to verify a few. Let's just say, someone was quite liberal with online data and it's a bit of advertising exaggeration especially for more hyped players. One was listed w/about 24 FBS offers including Michigan, UCLA, Oregon etc, and looks off by about @22 offers. Not like other schools don't do similar and there are always typo's and language mistakes, but readers evaluate similar to program height and weight stats: never accurate except by accident, but all based on some underlying fact.

But aside from a few obviously exaggerated offer lists, rest is pretty good and helpful describing incoming class. Nice to see info (and some hype) matching what other Ivy programs do!

From Jake's blog, it looks like CU has picked up a first class punter. One of the top recruits at that position in the country in Drew Schmid. Well done!

He ranked 40th at one kicking website. Harvard is bringing in the 28th ranked kicker on that the same website.

He's actually ranked no. 12 by 247sports:

http://247sports.com/Player/Drew-Schmid-94174

and espn ranked him #43:

Although Observer is loathe to acknowledge, college athletics pages are notoriously hype-driven. In this case it's clear he is a good player with a couple of impressive offers (Vandy, Northwestern), no need to exaggerate.

Drew (Columbia's freshman punter) is the brother of Zach (Harvard's senior punter), maybe Drew saw the light. In any event, maybe out of necessity, Columbia has had great punters and kickers the last couple of years. Hopefully. Drew will continue this tradition
