Commits Jaylan Sandifer, WR and Noah Pope LB didn’t make it. Class still has 5 incoming LB’s so they should be good there

Darnell Robinson, CB , also didn’t make it. He was a two star recruit. Sandifer was a 3 star so that hurts. It's the 2nd year in a row that Yale has lost a 3 star recruit. Last year it was Abu Dharamy who ended up at Colgate.

If there were some AI issues here, you'd think that Reno would be learning from his experiences by now...

How many 3 star recruits does Dartmouth have? Yale landed 4 of 5 3 Star recruits this year. I applaud Reno for trying. There's bound to be some casualties along the way.

"Victim" isn't the right word here, but perhaps I'm looking for a word which is the antonym of "beneficiary."

I wish that Yale weren't the anti-beneficiary of AI constraints on recruiting, but I am thrilled to see tangible evidence that the AI is still a meaningful tool to impose some academic rigor on Ivy recruiting.

These three are very talented and could have made a real impact. Will be interested in seeing which schools they wind up playing for - preferably not ones that play Yale. Sandifer has the potential to do really well on a 1A team.

Hopefully Sandifer and Pope will do a post graduate year at Choate and be part of next year's class.

Someone who commits to an Ivy prior to having to send in his/her response to the Admissions Office, and winds up elsewhere, does not necessarily have AI issues. They may have just changed their minds. Just as some who commit to non-Ivies can change their mind and wind up on an Ivy team. In the latter case, Letters of Intent are not binding on the Ivies.

Dartmouth certainly had guys who went with the scholarship, decided to stay close to home, or whatever.

Of course, when those situations occur, there is usually some sort of indication that the kid changed his mind in a media besides not showing up on the Ivy team's roster in June. Dartmouth's recent basketball de-commit is a pretty good example...

As a lawyer friend of mine explained to me: there is a difference between being committed and the actual commitment itself. Perhaps Go Green will further develop this distinction for us.

Between basketball and football, Yale brought in some studs. Congratulations to the recruits and those who recruited them.

I believe he has, unless he's posting from the institution.

Great phrase! Hadn't heard that one before. Multi-variable uses.

Cheers.
