Thank you. I've added him to the list although I normally restrict posting names on this board until they announce a commitment (normally on Twitter these days). In Shane's case his twitter account hasn't been updated since last Feb and there are other hints on the web that he did indeed commit to Penn this past summer. The few recruiting sites he is on also have stale data. They do indicate early offers from Yale and Princeton but don't even list Penn as a school of interest, so they too are probably reflecting the situation as of late last winter or early spring.

I heard 18 commitments as of the 8/14 golf outing so Penn is farther along in the process than my list would indicate.

Tough break for a young man having to be sidelined for his senior season. This happened in game 1 which seems like it was a month ago, as Cali high schools start so early compared to us.

It can actually work to both a player's advantage and the recruiting college's advantage since it often provides a 1st year medical redshirt opportunity. Penn has a couple of 2nd year rbs who were injured last year who will likely be around and eligible in semester number 9. So - despite the tough break, this theoretically might work to both Mason's and Penn's advantage eventually. Obviously it depends on the exact nature of the injury and I have no info other than it ended his season.

and an extraordinary blurb:

"2018 defensive end Thomas Booker released maybe 2017’s most extraordinary list of top five colleges last week. Booker ... has scholarship offers from nearly every major college football program: Clemson, Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan.

His top five schools: Princeton, Pennsylvania, Harvard, Stanford and Notre Dame."

I too will believe it when it happens, but his HS has historic connections to Princeton and to lesser extent Penn and Harvard, so it's not inconceivable.

While I am holding my breath for Princeton, I hope he ends up somewhere in the Ivy League. Good for the league.
