As a detractor of Princeton's all-orange football uni look, let me allow that Michigan's all-yellow version is the most obnoxious idea this side of the Clown College of Eugene.

As always, Maryland's helmets deserve consideration for the Hello! Dali Award....

This is a battle between the designers at Nike (Michigan, Princeton) and those at Under Armour (Maryland) to see how many secondary jerseys they can sell to affluent high school teams.

I am coming close to being an old fart, Foehi is already one. I do think they are pretty bright (code word ugly). I just like the simple old fashioned plain PSU home blues they wore today. Speaking of PSU, Coach Franklin when you are up 35-0 last thing you need is to have Barkley returning the kickoff. Kid took three unneeded shots to bring the ball to the 20

If that color (?) is maize, Foehi is Justin Bieber.

The Maryland helmets on top of the Full Maize would definitely be in the running for the First Annual Hello! Dali Award.

However, the season is just beginning and the possibilities are endless.

For example, Princeton could permanently retire the Ivy Hello! Dali Award if they came out in the Full Orange and each player dyed their hair Trump Orange with a combover.

Brilliant.

For some reason I thought that Maryland had used an all-yellow uniform, but maybe I'm just suffering sensory overload.

Cal is donning throwbacks this against SC in honor of Joe Roth.

I like the look. Esp. the socks.

Old farts on this board, that one was for you.

Yes, those are great! "They don't make 'em like that any more."

Instead, they make 'em like this:

I have done my pre-weekend review of the various Ivy websites and it is with great sadness that I report the discontinuation of the greatest League uniforms of any team in any sport.

Apparently Princeton has a new field hockey coach in the past year and she has ended the best reason to be an Ivy field hockey fan.

For many years, the Princeton team wore these short short orange skirts that had to be seen to be believed. Likely because field hockey is played on a water-saturated artificial turf, the Tigers wore tiny skirts made out of a diaphanous, almost sheer synthetic orange material. Any photograph of these fine athletes bent over to put their sticks to the ground was a thing of beauty.

The guy who designed the orange shorts for Hooters had nothing on the Nike designer for the Princeton field hockey team. I just googled, "Women's field hockey" and one of the autofill options is "Women's field hockey hot" featuring the Dutch team in their short orange skirts.

The sad end of a great era in Ivy League sports.

a lot of field hockey players I've seen would look better playing in overalls.

Don't be bitter foehi, about your complete lack of success with women your entire life. Somewhere, some day a woman will want to talk to you. It may happen at the county fair or the social security office but it will happen so don't give up.

As for women's field hockey uniforms, it should be about safety not traditional skirts which are not practical. They have made changes in women's lacrosse so field hockey should change as well if they haven't already.

AW, I share your desire to prioritize player safety when designing uniforms. However, I can assure you that, though the Princeton field hockey players were nominally wearing skirts, their uniforms did not inhibit the movement of their legs. At all.

Let's ignore accuracy for a second. It's good title IX is already in force; any version created following this thread would probably involve capital punishment.
