So he transferred from Hotchkiss to Hun School, moved from NH to NJ, was being recruited by SEC schools before committing to Navy, and then switched?

He looks like a nice player but I can't keep up.

Haven’t seen him play, but a couple friends who have say he’s mobile enough to play LB. If that were true at 250 lbs or so, he’d draw some serious attention on the D side. Also fascinating he chose to stay in public high school with Bergen Catholic and Don Bosco right around the corner.

I don't know if these are all scholarship offers or some preferred walk-on offers mixed in, but his twitter account said he had narrowed his choices to 7, including ND and Michigan. Episcopal HS, Alexandria, Va. Now, to ESPN3 and P men's hoops.

Wow, another 3* commitment and it’s always good to see guys from NJ staying local. That’s 3 by my count + Brevin White + at least two more 2* recruits. This is shaping up as a very strong class with 22 public announcements so far according to my list.

I saw another post noting that White did not officially “sign” on signing day. Although I don’t know if that really matters for an Ivy recruit, I’m sure he is getting a lot of offers/pressure from Power 5 schools who have lost QBs to other programs, which I believe is what happened with the Princeton decommit who is now starting at Duke.

As it turns out, Bama and Auburn appear to be interested in Brevin White. That’s what happens when you go after the big fish, I hope he stays a (Princeton) Tiger but we will have to see how this plays out.a

So Alabama inserted a freshman QB at the half of the game and went on to win the national championship, in place of the previous season-long starter who is a sophomore, and he thinks he's going to get playing time there?

That shows confidence, anyway.

Well, this year’s top rated QB signed with UGA where a freshman led them to the title game after winning the job (due to an injury) from the QB was who one of the top-rated recruits from the previous year. I’m not comparing Brevin White to Justin Fields, but anything can happen and it must be a heady experience for an 18-year old to have Bama courting you. I hope he remembers why he originally chose Princeton and sticks with the Tigers but this scenario was inevitable from the day he committed to Princeton.

If White decommits this will still be an excellent recruiting class.

The fact that White is putting recent Princeton commits on his twitter account is encouraging but if Lou Sabin tells him he is Alabama's starting quarterback next fall.... oh well.

One thing that is interesting is that the Ivies clearly recruit hard and successfully against the service academies.

For lots of reasons maybe it is time for some games against Army and Navy.

Yale showed that the games can be competitive.

I understand the A vs AA issue for Army and Navy but would still be a good thing for all involved.

I just played golf with our partners from last year and they both asked about you

What are the chances that the quarterback who beat Georgia will remain in school for 3 more years? Or uninjured for three more years?

The real question is: would you rather be at Princeton or Alabama if you cannot play football due to injury, or illness, or you are beaten out by a better player?

Blake Barnett, the 4* QB who was beaten out by Jalen Hurts at Alabama, transferred to a JC and then ASU, where he is now holding a clipboard (or more likely, an iPad). And even if Hurts does the same thing by the time the current freshman phenom turns pro (or transfers) there will another 5-star stud recruit who comes along.

And despite all of the national championships, there are as many QBs from Bama currently playing in the NFL as Harvard, so there are no guarantees even if he ends up playing there.

Brevin White surely knows all of this, but how can he resist the opportunity to be whisked down to Alabama, be treated like a rajah, see the world’s most lavish locker room, and kiss the ring of Coach Saban?

Carson Bobo TE 6’4” 215 lbs. Oak Mountain (AL)

2* rated, offers from Richmond, Troy, Stetson, Jacksonville State, VMI, Arkansas State, Davidson ... and passed on a preferred walk-on spot at Auburn. Sound familiar?

From 247 ...

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end talent out of Birmingham (Ala.) Oak Mountain said Tiger assistant Rodney Garner stopped by the school and extended an preferred walk-on offer his way.

"It makes the decision harder," he said. "I love Richmond and Princeton both, then Auburn gets thrown into the mix."

The class of 2018 prospect says he grew up an Alabama fan, something tied to the game of football, but otherwise he has long considered attending Auburn for academic purposes. Engineering is likely his major of choice and is a big part of the decision-making process.

"If I didn't play football in college, I was planning to go to Auburn." he said. "My strengths are math and science. Auburn also has a great engineering program, that's another reason why these schools are so appealing."
