LOL. Playing the Georgia Bulldogs. Our players are going to get hurt. I'll totally watch the game, but it's not going to be pretty. They better pay us the money they usually pay FCS teams to get beat on their turf.

Stadium holds over 90,000. Payday would probably be in the high six figures. Could buy a new video score board for the Yale Bowl or a new Field Turf Service with a practice bubble with that money. It would also be great for recruiting. The Yale players in the film were all excited about the prospect of playing Georgia. They weren't concerned about potential injuries.

Let's not blow an opportunity to play a Power 5 program like Princton did by not playing Rutgers in 2019 to mark the 150th anniversary of the first football game played. Even if Yale got killed at least the nation would learn that Yale still has a football team, as well as its storied place in football history.

Go independent until they get a invite to the Big Ten or ACC

I'd be satisfied if they could just play one historic rival from the FBS once every 15 years.

Right, a school where kids get Deans fired for suggesting that Halloween costumes aren't the end-all-be-all of life will be right at home in the Power 5, where the best players are one-and-done.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

observer (lower case) is not the Big O. Not than anybody other than GG could equal the Big 0, but that's another thread.

I agree with him. Like most other ivy schools, Yale has many more sports teams than the football factories, what happens to them if there is no league? Playing a game every season or so is different than moving out altogether.

I believe League rules prohibit that. You're either in for all, or out.

Did Princeton see an uptick in recruiting when they scheduled Northwestern?

Cornell for Stanford?

Yale for Hawaii?

I understand that we're more competitive today then we were in the 1980s and early 1990s. But my gut is that scheduling Georgia--whatever other benefits may accrue for Yale--will not get a leg up in recruiting.

There is definitely a correlation between scheduling these types of big profile games and Ivy League Championships. Cornell was Ivy Champions in 1990. Yale in 89. Princeton in 89. All of these Championship teams had classes which were enrolled at the time these games were played.

Then allow me to be the first to congratulate Yale for that one title they are going to win between the 2026 and 2033 seasons!

:)

And you can add the 2014 Yale-Army game to that list of high profile games which ultimately lead to Ivy Championships. The year's Ivy Champion Yale Senior class were all Freshman or Sophmores (medical redshirts) for that game.
