If you're counting degrees, then neither Roosevelt would count for Columbia as each dropped out of the law school. Earlier this millennium, Columbia did grant each an honorary degree posthumously although, if we're counting honorary degrees, then the counts at all the schools really start to climb.

You are quite right about the Roosevelts. I prefer to go by undergraduate degree, which means we subtract Hayes, Bush and Obama from the Harvard column, Clinton from Yale. But have no problem counting Wilson and Eisenhower with the respective institutions they led, though no one, from what I have read, would credit Eisenhower with either shaping or being shaped by Columbia.

Loved Gracie Slick, The Fillmore and the fact that holding was still illegal and you could hit anyone, anywhere, as hard as you could as long as it wasn't after the whistle or from behind.

Allman Brothers was the best by far and away. If you don't agree I am going to tie you to The Whipping Post. Might be the best live song other than this one one remember Ozzie was in his 60's

Love the Allman Brothers, but for Southern Rock: "Freebird", "Sweet Home Alabama" and Lynyrd Skynyrd put more gas in my motor. My next nomination is anything Bob Seger put on wax. Particularly "Old Time Rock and Roll" or "Night Moves".

Cheers. Let's hope our New Year's Present is Phailin Phil on ice.
