His stated 40yard dash time would put him third best ever at the NFL combine...Really?

Nice to see an RB and two linemen joining the pride. Maybe another DT and we're set.

We will still need a short yardage power back to replace Schroer.. Maybe one of the current first years?

Looks like a great player, but the 4.25 claim is outrageous as Lion Fan noted.

If he ran faster than 4.4 the list of schools recruiting him would have been more impressive than James Madison, Navy, Wofford and Gardner-Webb, the schools mentioned in stories about him.

Yeah, more likely 4.26. When the Lions recruited cornerback Cameron Roane from North Carolins four years ago, someone said he wasn't as fast as he said. Guess what, he's faster.

Kid ran 10.84 in the 100 as a high school junior. For comparison, Princeton tailback Charlie Volker ran 10.56 as a freshman at Heps.

The 4.25 may have been hand held, which is not reliable. Also, a great 40 time doesn’t always translate into a great 100 time. A 40 depends almost entirely on the start. But if this young man is a legitimate 4.4 that would be really fast. In any event, I am not sure how any of this translates into speed on the football field. Our first year kick returner, Will Allen, did not have sensational times in the 40 when he was recruited, but he always looked like the fastest guy on the field when he ran back kickoffs.

I have to differ on Thomas. He was adequate, but I would not say "very good." I don't recall many long gains, and alot of the time he was quickly stuffed up the middle. Perhaps I missed something? Schorer really turned into something special towards the end. Maybe Thomas can emerge as well.

At the very least, Miller gives the Lions a breakaway threat at running back which they did not have last year. Of course, Miller will have to earn the job, which will not be easy. The Lions have a very good running back returning in Tanner Thomas, and lots of other strong candidates.

Broderick Taylor, the freshman who missed all of 2017
with preseason injury? Is he healthy?

Not sure but his twitter comments suggests he will be ready to play this fall. Chris Schroer is the only one of the eight Columbia running backs listed on the roster who is graduating this year. Athletic two-sport sophomore ,Lynard Rose, is someone to watch for during spring practice as he is no longer listed on the baseball team's roster.
