Brown is revamping its coaching/programs/schemes/focuses under the UNH model which has been a FCS standout for many years....coaches with UNH backgrounds are being installed to implement the UNH model....an excitement and enthusiasm is being generated...needed changes are being implemented....the final renovations relating to coaching and team group space are being completed relating to the 12 mill plus initiative...new era for Brown football has now commenced....another new coach to be installed shortly on top of the new O-line coach and OC (both from UNH) and the newly hired alum with recent experience at UCF and Duke.....big-time shakeup - to breed a new spirit on the field...credit to Estes (UNH grad)for recognizing the need to revamp ...

Truthfully Estes had no choice but to shake up the coaching staff. The past season was disgraceful and change was not needed, it was demanded. Estes strikes me as a loyal guy so it must have been difficult to pink slip some of the old guard. Yet, Brown's demise did not just appear. It had been going on for at least 5 years, progressively getting worse until last season's debacle. Will the shake up produce immediate results? Probably not. But hopefully results will improve over time. Should we applaud Estes for the changes? No, as noted earlier Estes was forced to make the changes and at this point we have no idea how they will work out. Brown is not UNH and a lot of damage must be undone. Furthermore, if the problem is Estes, then changing assistant coaches will not help. Before we start applauding, let's see how things play out.

Dont expect much to change.

Decker Im sure is a fine young man and solid ball coach. But he has been an offensive assistant. He has been in meetings, building playbook, compiling gameplan, half time adjustments and such. And what else? So has Estes.

Brown's demise started somewhere far from the the Coaches' offices.

I promise you without personally knowing the parties involved that these new assistants are no better (or worse) then those old assistants. Change can be sold as a movement for alumni's sake and maybe a little wind in recruiting sails.

But the institutional issues that let a great coach like Estes hit rock bottom will be there regardless of assistant coaches.

You nailed it! “Nothing much will change..”

Estes universe stretches from New Hampshire to Rhode Island. Leave to him to go after an assistant offensive coach for the OC role. Not a surprise considering that Estes always grabs the play calling when he is in a pinch. He will do the same thing with a JV OC.

Estes move with the OC role is right in line with his poor desxiaikn making of the last few years.

He fires Sheehan to save his own job and then will frame it as... “we need a couple more years as the OC gets settled into the seat.”

HCE has run this thing into the ground and blamed it others.

Estes solving the O-line issue with a number of big/time recruits
including Jack Doty out of Iona Prep offered by Md., Fordham and Columbia..another 6' 7 commit this weekend comes out of La. - Zach Harris..Brown was the last official visit for both and determined to be their best fits after months of touring ....a big Andover O lineman commit will add further size to a position emphasized in this round of recruiting...congrats to the staff in bringing home these outstanding athletes!

Gabe Sanchez, a solid 6' 5"' 220 lb TE from Modesto, Ca to Brown over AF, No Arizona and Fresno State...solid, plays big, good hands, runs his routes ...wants a career in medicine....one of Brown's last spots in a 26 spots year...believe one spot left....
