Fantastic team game. Harvard has a great player in Towns but he didn’ Get much help. Five Lions in double figures I think. Engles presses all the right buttons tonight.

Columbia survived a hot first half of 3s by Harvard. Dartmouth loses another one point game after being up 5 with a minute to go

Tigers and Quakers both win in OT.

4 razor-thin games BUT home teams win all four.

Great second half of basketball on Morningside Heights tonight. Excellent coaching job by Coach Engles.

This outstanding performance shows that Columbia has all the ingredients of an excellent team that is capable of beating the best in the Ivy League, which was not clear until now. They showed poise closing out the game, resiliency after being down, coolness under pressure with key free throws, good coaching decisions, and effective pressure-defense when they needed it. What this game, however, does not prove is whether they can do this more than one game at a time. They have the personnel and skill, but great teams can do this consistently, and it is still not clear why Columbia has not shown this ability, other than the simple answer that they are a young team in training and development.

Lukas Meisner is often overlooked. But he is one of the best overall front court guys in the IL when he is on his game. Last night he was truly excellent in all phases, scoring, rebounding and playing great defense.

I agree. Sometimes Meisner shows up and sometimes he doesn't. When he does, he looks like he can do it all.

The Lions were firing on all cylinders in the second half. It also looked like Castlin is beginning to get his mojo back, which would be great. To have a backcourt rotation of Smith, Castlin, Adlesh, Stefanini, and Hickman would be a potent combination. Tape also looks like he develops from game to game. Plus there are Hanson and Brumant cooking in the wings. This is a very young team with a lot of developing upside. Go Lions!

As an H alum, I never cease to be amazed at H's uber self-promotion. If you read the H Athletics website's recap of last night's game, except for one short sentence near the end that really gets lost in the blizzard of self-praise, you would certainly never know that H lost the game. An amazing job of revisionist history that puts to shame the Kremlin's art in former days of retouching photos to make people disappear. This is the most inaccurate recap of a game that I can remember ever reading on any Ivy's website.

Could this sort of thing be where fake news got its start?
