Clutch performance in the last several minutes by senior Kyle Castlin as the Columbia Lions downed Dartmouth 77-74 in a men's basketball game tonight at Levien Gymnasium in New York City. Castlin made the last several points for the Lions and blocked Dartmouth's last shot to ensure the victory. Credit Dartmouth for its outstanding outside shooting and strong overall effort by its underclassmen. Very exciting game.

Columbia sweeps Harvard and Dartmouth. QuInton Adlesh continues to be a deadly sharpshooter. Mike Smith is All-Ivy caliber. Lukas Meisner is heating up. And Kyle Castlin is back! Go Lions.

We did let a 15 point second half lead slip away last night. Castlin had to make the play of the game to hang on for the win. While the sweep is great, I thought we played better against Harvard. Nice to see some of the all time greats at half time, including Hayward Dotson and Roger Walaszek, and JIm McMillian’s family, if there were a three point shot when they played Jimmy Mac would have averaged 30with that perfect jump shot from the wing.

As for playing better against Harvard, I think what matters is that we beat whoever we beat. Every game dynamic is different, and every opposition can play above their level at any time (look at Brown beating Princeton yesterday). So I think Columbia showed great poise in holding onto the win and not panicking, and let's hope we can keep this going. Adlesh has suddenly made us forget Grant Mullins. He is on fire.
