...Jackson Perry (DL) of Dartmouth is the defensive Bushnell winner. Then again, he’ll receive so many double teams that Dartmouth’s LB’s will be the statistical beneficiaries.

If they didn't give it to AJ Zuttah, they won't give it to Perry.

Of course, Dartmouth's Jack Traynor has as good a shot at defensive POY as anyone.

I’m expecting Jackson “5” Perry to have a better senior season than AJ Zuttah had. He dominates opposing single O-linemen to an embarrassing degree. In fact, I expect to see him credited for sacks this year by driving blockers straight into QB’s. Again, if he stays healthy, he’ll be the only thing related to Vegas that can’t be over-hyped.

… then the Dartmouth offense will not need to produce much to get a victory. Ten points should suffice for most opponents.

Princeton's Horsted or Lovett for offense

At least one senior on the league championship team, or one senior from each of the champions in a 2 way tie.

Jackson Perry has tremendous potential, but he has to stay healthy. He played just one game as a sophomore and only four before being sidelined most of the rest of the way last year.

There are two chances that an offensive lineman will beat out a skill position player for league MVP: slim and none.

the second coming of Anthony Munoz and he wouldn't win. I would narrow observer's 2 chances to 1 and that would be none. My money is on Horsted, he is probably the best overall athlete in the league. Since Gotta Lovett already won unless he has another monster year I think the Jesper is the favorite going into the season

Agree with posters that offensive POY is weighted toward skill position players, and that team success also is weighed, rightly or wrongly. If Dudek can get through Maine and Mercer OOC games unscathed, expect him to be strongly in the running as a soph.

If Lamar comes back, that will take away from Dudek's numbers, but be good for the team.

In three of the last five years the Princeton quarterback has been the Offensive POY.

This is pretty incredible, about the Princeton quarterbacks. How has the Tiger offense changed, if at all, under the new offensive coordinator last season after Perry left for Bryant? I guess part of last year was just taking full advantage of Kanoff's skills after all the defensive injuries made scoring a priority.

I think Franklin’s spot on, and if there’s be any offensive strategic change it’s not obvious. It’s intended to adapt to available personnel to start with, and this year’s new QB options will offer another indication of that.

Dartmouth's Perry plays interior line, and will not have the stats like his LB Traynor will. Holuba if he stays healthy has a chance, but teams do not run to his side and he will need to rack up the sacks. My pick is Traynor, who was unanimous 1st team last year.
Princeton's Lovett is the easy pick, and Horsted may be the most talented, but Justin Watson will tell him how hard it is for a WR to win. My pick is a Princeton sleeper, RB Volker.

Justice Shelton-Mosley and Josh Wainwright may argue your point about Horsted. What would Horsted's numbers look like without Carlson on the other side, and a different type of offensive system?

That's why I picked Volker because their offense will be different and maybe more run oriented.

Lovett couldn't be stopped two years ago and I don't see a defense returning enough talent to stop him this year. If Princeton dominates the league, Holuba or Tom Johnson will win DPOY.

...who was on the field last Fall when Dartmouth scored 56 points against Princeton (with 34 points scored by D in the 4th quarter)? Johnson put up tackling numbers because the Princeton defense offered up lots of tackling opportunities.

I wonder how Lovett will perform when he's not sharing time and will have a target on his back the entire game. The way he was used two seasons ago inside the red zone may not work when he's handling the majority of snaps, including dropping back to pass on 3rd and Long. Defenses weren't able to tee off against him in those situations, because it was Kanoff that was trusted. Now if you can say the freshman 4* rated QB comes in to replace Kanoff, then Lovett has a chance to duplicate 2016. Otherwise, I say NO.

I agree with you. Princeton needs to put a reliable quarterback on the field for Lovett to thrive. Lovett usually lined up with another quarterback in the backfield where he could run or throw. If Brevin White turns out to be as good as the hype, it will be a great year not just for Lovett, but for the Tigers overall.
If the injury bug doesn't hit the Tigers, the defense will be the best in years or maybe the best ever.

Can we expect WR Smith to really break out this season, and if both he and Wainwright are healthy, to play together as a consistent threat? And

D: Must watch out for Fossati and Holuba at Princeton. Inside source tells me that Fossati aka The Italian Stallion aka Mama's Meatballs is having monster offseason, squat up to 700 lbs - will translate to tackles.

Prediction: Fossati and Holuba will enjoy a similarly dominant year to when they played together in 8th grade for the Ho-Ho-Kus / Saddle River Indians (later changed to Warriors when the snowflakes took over) - Holuba stuffing holes, Fossati filling them

I see Holuba's strongest skill as an outside passrusher in this league, not a run hole clogger. Although interested to see his size development as a fifth year player for the Tiger
