It is interesting how a quarterback can play much better in one offensive system than another. Ryan Fitzpatrick's best NFL full season to date was with Houston in 2014. He followed this with two struggling years with the NY Jets. In Tampa Bay, he has fitted into their system much better resulting in earning the nickname FitzMagic.

While it is a very small sample size of only two games, Coach Dirk Koetter does seem to be bringing the best out of Ryan. Koetter is known as a highly innovative offensive minded coach who works well with quarterbacks.

As a long time Buc Fan, I hope they sit Winston for a while. Fitz is hot. And I am sick of all the drama with JWinston.

Fitz had his best year with the Jets and threw for career high 30 TDs with only 15 Ints and over 3,900 yards (career best)in 2015. 2016 was terrible. When he's hot, he's hot.

All hail the sartorial splendor of the modern Harvard man:

ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky is arguing that the Bucs must put Winston back in as soon as he is healthy. I disagree. You gotta ride the hot hand and Fitzy is on fire.

By the way, the most beautiful woman on television Laura Rutledge is gaining weight. I'll bet she's pregnant.

Fitz always seems to have flashes of brilliance. Then he always seems to have longer term periods of mediocrity or worse.

But as Frank Sinatra might croon, at least they can't take away his sartorial sense.

Calvin, your point is the one echoed by ESPN analysts Dan Orlovsky and Trent Dilfer, namely that we've seen enough of Fitzy over the years to recognize this pattern, flashes of brilliance which then get tamped down once opposing defensive coordinators get enough tape on his latest resurrection to game plan against it.

I disagree. This is like when baseball managers take out a hot starting pitcher late in the postseason when the guy reaches a certain pitch count.

Leave Fitzy in until the hot streak ends. Who's to say how long he can make it last? I think you keep Winston in the bullpen as the relief pitcher.

I wasn't suggesting he should be pulled now, just that I don't expect him to go on to a great season. At some point he will falter, then they can sub in. But I agree with riding the hot hand as long as it lasts.

Calvin, I agree with you. I fully expect Fitzpatrick to regress to his long-term mean eventually. And, judging from all the data we have, it probably won't be pretty.

Right now, Fitzy is an internet stock in 1997 and Alan Greenspan has warned of irrational exuberance.

But you know what? NASDAQ at 3,000 can go to 5,000 before it heads back to 2,000. We can't take Fitzpatrick out while he's this hot.

You know who agrees with us? DeSean Jackson. And the opinion of teammates, especially the wide receivers, matters. You can't risk disturbing the mojo in the locker room right now. Fitzy is very popular with the other Bucs. If they think he's got them playing well, you've got to respect that.

In case you're wondering why DeSean Jackson supports Fitzy keeping his job after Winston serves his suspension:

Jackson Performance________Winston______Fitzpatrick

Games_______________________11_____________5
Receptions/Game_______________3_____________5
Receiving Yards/Game__________45____________89
Receiving Touchdowns__________2_____________4
100-Yard Games_______________1_____________2

Fitz is still laughing all the way to the bank,

he has put maybe 65 mill in his bank account, take 10% off the top for his agent then let's say 40% in SALT that is still 32 after taxes before any kind of endorsements

As I said I am sure he is happy to share it with his I think 5-6 kids

Gotta love it, he is living the dream, just about everyone here would trade places with him in NY minute. The best part is that he is a player. He is just like Jay Fiedler before him, he is showing the NFL that Ivy QB's aren't a joke. They only come along once every 10 yrs or so but they can play. I just wish someone had given Dalyn Williams a shot because I believe he would have been the second coming of Russell Williams. Good Luck Chad Kanoff bc you are the next one up

Considering Bradford's trajectory, maybe sooner than one would have expected.
