Eh. He won the Ivy championship, brings in great recruits every year, kids seem to like him, and embarrassed Harvard two years in a row now. Good enough for a five year extension really.

gentlemen; in my minds eye mr. reno is still making the same basic mistakes as made at the beginning of his tenure. it remains to be seen how our blue will respond this weekend on the shores of Lake Cayuga. It has been said a squad improves the most between the first and second game. There are many areas of needed improvement especially in the area tackling and covering receivers. This is a much different defensive squad from last year which lost many superlative players. I suspect it will take sometime for the defense to come together. I am optimistic the defensive coordinator will be able to successfully put together the parts of the puzzle within the next few games. as our dear friend mr. ricks used to say you have to keep the faith.

More going on Yale football team than meets the untrained eye. Several key injuries last week at Holy Cross.

Injuries, close losses, and complacency with recent success led to a very frustrating season for the Green in 2016.

While I think Yale will be fine this year, it *could* happen to them, too.

Injuries are already a concern. Complacency not an issue. Players concerned about coaching issues...specifically, the offensive play calling and defensive breakdown last week versus Holy Cross which reminded everyone in this forum of the similar events last season at Dartmouth.

Yale recovered quite nicely after the Dartmouth loss last season.

:)

Even the "untrained eye" was able to observe some of those key injuries. For those injuries that weren't so perceptible from the stands we will likely have to wait and see who is on the field against Cornell. It's just the beginning of the season and already the injury picture looks pretty bad. For Yale fans this looks all too familiar with the exception of last season's championship team.

You are correct. Last year's team was saved by the senior class and how much they wanted to win. I believe this number is correct; last week Reno started one senior on offense or defense. He has completely disrespected this year's senior class; both off the field and on the field. That fact, combined with the coaching issues, is of extreme concern to the players. This week's game is huge for the direction of this season. There is no question that Yale has the talent, and the depth. The issue this season is the team environment that Reno and his staff have created.

Crowle, Roman, Locke (I think), were the senior starters last week. Correct me if I'm wrong but OL Jack Lee was presumably hurt - didn't play at all. Who was disrespected by not starting that should have? Perhaps TE Lager would qualify. Was Reno supposed to start, (picking a Sr. RB at random) Kyle Ellerson at RB, in lieu of Dudek or Lamar? IMO, the seniors who were near the sharp end of the depth chart - and not hurt - either started or got playing time.

Mind you, I am not disparaging or doubting your insights. Just making some counterpoints to further the discussion.
