Jeff Sagarin updated as of yesterday:

Princeton, 10 points better than any other Ivy.

Then, closely-bunched, within a touchdown top-to-bottom:

Then a TD back to Cornell

Then a TD and 2 pt conversion back to Brown.

Would agree with Sagarin, except for suspect nature of Tiger competition to date casts some doubt on Princeton standing. A couple of observations seem in order:

--Dartmouth Penn game this coming weekend will be very revealing;

--Princeton-Columbia may (I think will) expose Lions as a second division team;

--Next three games on Yale schedule, Maine, Dartmouth, and Mercer, may prove Bulldogs' undoing (thank God all three will be in Bowl). Will Yale have any gas left in the tank by the time they play Penn?

--Princeton does look good, and remaining OOC game with Lehigh should not be too challenging. However, this team has historically lacked depth. Time will tell if Tigers can survive final three games in November: D-Y-Penn, in that order. I have my doubts!

Stay tuned....

These OOC games are junk food. While satisfying a craving, they provide the same ultimate value.

I stand by my view that Jeff's work is interesting; but only useful after four games.

Having offered that caveat
I agree that six teams are very close this year.
Princeton has "shown" the best, but is not 10 points better (P has played soft openers)

I do believe Cornell and Brown improved this season, but a notch below the other six (not 7-9 point spread).

Final deep thoughts:
There will be at least 3 upset wins
And at least a two-way tie for the championship.
