whether or not you care, it's a fairly big deal for an Ivy League team to enter the lair of an ACC opponent and come away with a win, in any sport- admittedly, I haven't done my due diligence to make categorical mention of how often it's happened, but I'll take Columbia's four point win at Clemson today over the forty point victory just registered in Hartford by the Penn women bballers.
Speaking of Penn basketball, their men played an ACC school last Tuesday night, Florida State, in Tallahassee, and were absolutely pummeled, 105-70; two nights later, they suffered a 21 point thrashing at George Mason.

Seems like mean-spirited drivel offered by a pencil-necked putz!
TOTALLY WITHOUT POINT!

In the recent past the Penn women defeated Miami in Florida.

Dartmouth's women have beaten BC and Colorado in recent years.

I'm not expecting much from the team this year. Koclanes left the cupboard bare when she took off, and it shows. We got murdered by Rhode Island last week... :(

League-favorite Princeton has crushed three opponents, including WNIT teams Villanova and Delaware, and last year’s Patriot runner-up BU, by 22 ppg. Berube’s defense is brutal — opponents shooting 31%, 18% on treys. They currently have Division I’s longest winning streak at 25. They have Seton Hall and Texas at Jadwin in December, should be fun.

This may be everyone else’s last big chance — Tigers have only two seniors, and Abby Meyers is the only one playing much. Meanwhile, two national Top-100 HS seniors have already committed for next year.

Good thoughts. We have a very good team. I am very impressed with Coach Berube. Met her parents at Payne Whitney in her rookie season.

But IMO we cannot win either the League or the ridiculous tournament unless at least one of our players 6'3" or taller becomes a meaningful part of the rotation -- even if it is by committee. Our tallest starter is listed at 6'1". No "big" has yet to play a meaningful role.

It is my hope that Carla is bringing along the two frosh, Morton and Hill, slowly at the outset of the season with an eye toward increased roles for them. Or that Weger steps up. It is early. The players who are getting lots of minutes are doing well. Just my early opinion.

Not just top 100, top 50. All questions about whether Coach Berube can recruit when she was hired appear to have been answered. Morton and Hill played meaningful minutes against BU along with Katy Theirs, a 6'-2" frosh. One of the top 50 incomers is 6'-4". Also ranked 9th nationally at her position. Joiseyfan may be right, better get the Tigers this year.

PU looks strong, but Clemson was picked to finish 11th (out of 15), so Columbia's win is not a small thing.

Columbia does not have any player taller than 6'1", but the players compensate with their remarkable speed and athleticism. The Lions could probably field a great track relay team with Durr, Hsu, Patrick and Henderson. Durr was also a state champion high jumper in high school in Iowa. and her teammate, Davis, obviously can sky with the best. Seems to me the Ivy League is loaded with talent this year with Princeton, Columbia and Penn leading the way, in no clear order yet.
