Ivy Inquisitor, I like your sense of "a few weeks ago." I wish I could get that much out of my time.

An Observer: Wow! I didn't know that this original post was in February. To quote my dad "Time dose piss right by". I knew each year we lose 30 seconds, but I thought this was first posted in September. I guess this tells the type of Year it's been. Thank you for reposting.

After researching the Penn TV deal, it nearly costed them NCAA membership. NCAA was concerned it will give them a unfair advantage and it would hurt ticket sales for non- televised games. As a result, the Ivy started to publicly disassociate themselves from Penn. The original Ivy group pact made little sense to me it was more of a auxiliary association like ECAC than a actual conference. Had Pennsylvania not rebelled against the NCAA’s TV restrictions the Ivy League wouldn’t be what it is today. Penn’s trailblazing tv deal influenced tv in college sports and conference revenue sharing . Their original tv deal included revenue sharing with their opponents. For better or worse Pennsylvania’s TV scheme laid the foundation for creating the 1-A and 1-AA split.
