Well for Dartmouth, “celebration day” is final exams. Friday was final exams, Saturday was football and Sunday is more final exams.

Life in the Ivy League.

The bonfire tonite celebrating the wins over H and Y will no doubt serve as a celebration of the season. In 2005, after beating H, there was much hype and expectation of a bonfire going into the Y game. They beat us. One of the Y guys said, “we brought the fire hoses.” The following year we won both games and the bonfire was scheduled for the following Thursday with the League title on the line at home against DC 2 days later. The weather forced a delay until Friday night and I got to see it. It was a lot of fun, with a few thousand students and townspeople — and a few fire trucks — ringing Cannon Green. Fortunately, we won the next day. Surace had wisely discouraged the anticipation of a bonfire and also scheduled it for after the season since 2013. Cheers.
