He's absolutely right. What else was Kyler supposed to do? The stats are astounding as is (17 TDs one INT). And if Howard wasn't so dominant running from inside the 10, Kyler would've had several extra passing TDs, and maybe even a couple on the ground.

The guy engineered critical drives late in the victories over Yale and Harvard, outshined Perry in the Brown game and dominated co-champ Princeton (16-19 with 3TDs).

The Green won in blowouts v Cornell, Penn and Princeton, so there wasn't an opportunity for stat padding. By contrast, Perry threw all game every game (often in garbage time).

Kyler should have been an easy 1st team choice over Perry, and gets my nod for POTY over Howard (who is an absolute beast and joy to watch).

I respect your opinion, but I think it’s a hard sell arguing that Perry should not have been a first team guy.

If we were voting on the best QB in the league, no question, that's Perry. But shouldn't the POTY or the 1st team QB be a guy who most helped his team win?

As I say that, I am reminded that Witkowski was twice a 1st teamer (and once a POTY) when Columbia was putrid.

But Kyler was essential and magnificent for the team that won the title, and especially magnificent when it mattered. That makes this an easy choice for me.
